N.A.S Ingot

NAS INGOTS is NON ALLOYS STEEL INGOTS. The molten metal in an Induction Furnace is circulated automatically by electro-magnetic action so that when alloy additions are made , a homogeneous product is ensured in minimum time. While making steel in the electric induction furnace, the foremost consideration is the optimum utilization of the furnace as well as elimination of delays are items of the utmost importance in meeting the objective of maximum output in tones/hour at a low operational const. Scrap constitutes the major Raw material for steel making in the induction furnace where selected scrap of consistent quality, preferebly the same as that of the steel to be produced is mainly used. This is becauyse elimination of some elements from the molten metal is difficult in an induction furnace melting, and in the gases where these are present in high quantities, dilution is the only possible solution. That is why procurement of the appropriate kind of scrap is the utmost importance in induction furnace melting practice. The charge should be compact and should consist of a number of small pieces of sold selected steel scrap mixed with clean turnings. The scrap is collected in skips on the working platform and is charged into the furnace through the top opening by removing the top lid of the furnace and tipping the skips. As soon as the furnace is charged, the switches admitting alternating current to the induction coil are closed.
